Got stink? We active folks need deodorant and lots of it! Unfortunately many commercial deodorants are full of chemicals (including aluminum) that we do not want to be putting on our bodies, especially not right on our lymph nodes! Read this article for more on why aluminum free might not be enough.
Luckily for you, Inside Out Health has some alternatives for you! I’m offering you 2 options for homemade deodorant. I personally feel the first one works better but after using it for several months I began reacting to one of the ingredients. I found the second recipe which works well (but not as good as the first) and doesn’t give me a rash so I am sharing both of these with you.
Recipe #1 (shared with me from a friend so I have no link to an original recipe):
5 TBSP Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Baking Soda
1/4 cup Corn Starch
10 Drops essential oils of your choice.
Recipe #2 (originally found here):
6 TBSP Coconut Oil
1 cup Arrowroot Powder
~40 drops of your favorite essential oils (I do recommend using Frankincense as one due to it’s anti-cancer properties)
Whichever recipe you choose add ingredients to a bowl and mix well. Add to a tin or deodorant container.
**Do not let these get warm – the coconut oil will melt and the mixture will separate.
