I’m a runner. There I said it. I’m a runner. It took me years to say this and believe it. My first run I didn’t make it one block, I was sitting on the street corner red faced and unable to breath after just a few steps. I downloaded the couch to 5K running plan and followed it religiously. I got stuck on week 4 for over a month but I persisted. Just 7 years later I’ve now run almost 40 marathons including ultra distances up to 100 miles. If I could become a runner I truly believe anyone can. You don’t have to run far. You don’t have to run fast. You just have to get up off the couch and go. It costs virtually nothing. No, you don’t need those fancy GPS watches or anything else they try to sell you – just a good pair of running shoes and your heart are all it takes to get started and keep going. Try it this weekend. Go for a run around your neighborhood. Get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. Take the kids and the pup and make it a family adventure. Just go have some fun!
